Tungsten alloy is an alloy based on tungsten and added with other elements. It is an alloy with tungsten powder as the main raw material and nickel, iron, copper and other elements as auxiliary materials. It is a metal material with high density, good ductility and high temperature corrosion resistance.

Among metals, tungsten has the highest melting point, good high temperature strength, creep resistance, thermal conductivity, conductivity and electron emission characteristics, and a large proportion. In addition to a large number of cemented carbide and alloy additives, tungsten and its alloys are widely used in the electronic and electric light source industries, as well as in aerospace, casting, weapons and other sectors, and in the manufacture of rocket nozzles, die-casting molds, armor-piercing bullet cores, contacts, heating elements and heat shields.

The production of doped tungsten alloy usually uses ammonium paratungstate as raw material. In addition to the traditional classical process, the extraction method and ion exchange method for preparing ammonium paratungstate from tungsten concentrate have also been studied internationally. China has also adopted these processes, thus simplifying the process flow and improving the recovery rate of tungsten. Many countries have adopted blue tungsten oxide doping process to replace tungsten trioxide doping, thus improving the doping effect.

The qualified blank is one of the keys to the production of tungsten materials, and the qualified tungsten powder must be selected first to prepare the blank. The characteristics, mixing, forming and sintering process of the powder directly affect the composition, density and microstructure of the blank, and strongly affect the processing and use performance of the product. The silicon, aluminum and potassium elements added in the non-pendulous tungsten wire are added in the form of oxide in tungsten trioxide or "blue tungsten". The mixture is usually washed with a solution containing hydrofluoric acid to remove impurities in the powder. The billets for producing wire and small sheet are mostly formed on the press, and can also be formed by isostatic pressing.
